Roundup of bike-related Black Friday sales in Portland

unnamedSeveral local bike businesses will have special deals this Friday — a.k.a. “Black Friday”. We got the details below…

Sales

Clever Cycles, 11-6pm – demo and former rental Bromptons plus some parts on sale, gift for first 15 in line. Any remaining bikes will be available for sale online Saturday. (see the youtube promotion)

Holy Spokes (3070 SE Division), 8am-8pm – 15% off of all kids bikes and balance bikes, plus a $10 gift card for with purchase of $100.

Blaq Packs, Friday through Monday get 20 percent off everything in store and online. Check them out at 2505 SE 11th.

Bike Gallery, in-person deals on Friday, online deals on Thanksgiving day (plus ‘THANKS20’ for 20% off any regularly priced parts and such). Sale and closeouts on kids bikes through end of December.

Pedal PT has 20% off bike fitting gift certificates until Dec 4. There’s also a great coupon in the Chinook Book.

Anti-sales

Kenton Cycle Repair, 10:30am-6:30pm: “Come work on your bike! Or have us work on your bike, or we can teach you how to fix your bike. **Labor is free of charge**, donations accepted if you feel so inclined.”

Gladys Bikes, noon-4pm: “You’re invited you to come in, hang out, ask us questions about your bike, get help with quick fixes, make use of our tools, learn tips for adjusting your brakes, practice fixing a flat, eat leftovers, tell jokes, listen to sweet jams… whatever you feel like.”

The Bike Farm collective says “the shop and tools are free to use this Friday, 12-4 (much like “Open Shop” on first Thursdays). We’ll have some food as well, and you’re welcome to come hang out and talk bikes!”

#optoutside

REI helped kick off the idea of #optoutside. Not surprisingly, it has caught on with many shops, it’s very similar to the “anti-sales” listed above.

Sugar Wheel Works will be closed the whole weekend to #optoutside. There’s a 20% off sale through the end of November, code RIDE2016. Next year they will be having a bunch of free clinics for the basics and some advanced topics.

Do you know of any local shops having sales? Post it below, or have the shop email me.
