Welcome to your menu of weekend rides and events, lovingly brought to you by our friends at Hopworks Urban Brewery.

Once again it looks like the “Worst Day” ride will have pretty OK weather — but at least there’s no risk of cancellation like last year! There are some great rides this weekend, no matter if you want to get zany or dirty, or just ride fast on beautiful country roads.

Have a great weekend!

Worst Day of the Year Ride – 8:00 am at Lucky Lab Brewpub (915 SE Hawthorne)
After being cancelled due to weather (yes weather!) last year, this Portland tradition has returned. Thousands of riders will hit the streets of southeast Portland wearing all manner of gear and costumes on either a 15-mile urban loop or a more challenging 46-mile route. The weather won’t really be that bad. Probably warm (for this time of year) with a bit of rain. Learn more here.

NW Trail Alliance Group MTB Ride 8:00 am at Universal Cycles parking lot (2202 East Burnside)
This week’s ride is headed out to Growlers Gulch. Meet-up in Portland for carpool options and then get ready to ride! There will be two groups depending on your skill level and speed. Learn more here.

King Kong Classic – 9:00 am at Ristretto Roasters (2181 NW Nicolai St)
This is an informal group ride based on a tradition started by local bicycle maker and racer Ira Ryan. Expect a tough, 50-mile route that will venture up and over the West Hills out into the Helvetia area of Washington County. And don’t forget your fenders and tires that can handle a few sections of gravel.

Bike Loud PDX General Meeting – 3:00 pm at Velo Cult (1969 NE 42nd)
Get involved in local bicycle activism and learn more about the current work of Bike Loud PDX. Bring your ideas and input on how to make Portland streets safer and more enjoyable to ride on. Learn more here.
