We know it’s a bit late, but there are some great events this weekend. And, in case you hadn’t noticed, the sun is out! Check out the details of this weekend’s events below…

Saturday, October 5th

Rough Stuff/Country Bike (in the city) Ramble11:00am – 5:00pm, meet at Fernhill Park (NE 37th and Ainsworth)
From the ride organizer: “A ramble exploring the “country” aspects in the city while riding “Country” bikes. Expect a good deal of gravel/dirt action, climbs (you can walk it if you have to), meandering, and places you didn’t think existed. We’ll have food/picnic breaks along the way. Ride a bike geared towards comfort, not speed, and one that can handle off-road elements. Moderate pace, no one left behind. Lycra and carbon, no, shellac and seersucker, yes. Longer ride this time, estimated 30 miles with 3,000 ft cumulative climbing. Ride not a loop, but will end near transit and beer. Trailers not recommended.” More info here

Oregon Coast Gravel EpicAll day
This is a serious adventure ride. There are two routes to choose from: The Abomination is 73 miles with 10,000 ft of climbing and the Son of Abomination is 37 mi and 5,000 ft of climbing. You have been warned. More info here.

Oregon Randonneurs Scavenger Hunt7:00 am at Jim & Patty’s Coffee (4130 SW 117th Ave., Beaverton, OR)
A fun ride through Tualatin Valley. Check out the site for more info.

Portland Bike Polo End of Season Party and Fundraiser7:00 – 10:00 pm at VeloCult (1969 NE 42nd Ave)
Come out and help you local bike polo team celebrate another great season. Expect lots of beer, a raffle with tons of great prizes, music, and more. Facebook event here.

Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Cascade Locks easyCLIMB trail (in the Gorge)
Join the NW Trail Alliance for this fun family ride on the three-mile easyCLIMB trail. There will be food, activities, music, trail tours, skills course, and onsite bike repair and the day will conclude with raffle and a headlamp parade on the trail. More info here.

Gran Prix Erik TonkinHeiser Farms in Dayton, OR
The GPET makes its sixth stop of the series at Heiser Farms. Looks like a great course and should be a fun day of riding for the whole family. More info here.

Sunday, October 6th

Cross Crusade at Alpenrose DairyAll day
This is the big one. Expect a huge turnout and a fun, festival atmosphere. There will be lots of food to eat onsite and the course is perfect for spectators. Bring the family and experience this epic cyclocross event. More info here
