Bike to Blazers is back for 2013! The event is set for April 17th when the Portland Trail Blazers take on the Golden State Warriors. This will be the 5th Bike to Blazers since we created the event back in 2006.

This time around, the event has been organized by the Lloyd Transportation Management Association (Lloyd TMA), Bicycle Transportation Alliance (BTA), and the Blazers/Rose Quarter organization. Stepping up as sponsors are Hopworks Urban Brewery and Metropolis Cycles.

The plan is to meet at 5:00 pm for happy hour food and drinks at the Hopworks Bike Bar Metropolis Cycles (2249 N Williams Ave). Then at 6:30 pm, we’ll ride as a group down Vancouver to the Rose Quarter for group photos, sign-making, and so on. Justin Zeulner the Senior Director of Sustainability and Public Affairs for the Portland Trail Blazers/Rose Quarter, says they’ll unveil a new bike fix-it station and share other commitments by the Trail Blazers to care for the community and the environment.

Tickets to the game start at $13 per person and can be ordered online (be sure to use the password “BIKE”). UPDATE: The $13 tickets are sold out. Now the cheapest seats are $18.

Bike to Blazers is a great way to celebrate our hometown team and raise the awareness of bicycling at the Rose Garden. For more photos and recaps of past events, check out our Bike to Blazers story tag.
