Job Description
The Program Administrator provides support for and coordinates several programs and projects within the Center for Urban Studies and the Center for Transportation Studies (CTS) and its Initiative for Bicycle and Pedestrian Innovation (IBPI) under the supervision of the Director of the IBPI.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Event Management
Provide support for the delivery of professional development seminars, conferences, workshops, and courses for several programs including the Center for Transportation Studies, Initiative for Bicycle and Pedestrian Innovation, Urban Studies and Planning and OTREC. Duties include confirming speakers, processing contracts and payment for speakers, facilities and vendors, developing and distributing marketing materials, processing registrations, interacting with participants, arranging logistics (e.g. catering, room reservations and set-up, AV equipment), coordinating with instructors to prepare course materials, summarize course evaluations, and conduct necessary follow-up.

• Publication Management and Production
Write, edit and produce documents in web and hard copy format including newsletters, annual reports, program information, and project summaries. Develop written and web-based materials for the public and professionals that summarize recent and on-going academic research. Duties include contacting researchers to obtain original research documents, reading those documents, drafting a summary of the research for review, finalizing the summary based upon feedback from supervisors and the researchers, and keeping information up to date as projects progress.

• Website Administrator
Manage the website for CTS and IBPI. Duties include updating site content on a regular basis, recommending changes and additions to web site content, and developing and identifying materials for the site, including text and photos.

• Program Administration
Manage scholarship, award and achievement programs for IBPI and other programs. Represent PSU, CTS, IBPI and other programs in USP to the public and professional organizations at professional events and meetings, and serve as the liaison between these programs and the general public, including current and prospective students, professionals, and members of the PSU community Manage the administrative functions of IBPI. Duties include email and written correspondence, processing contracts and other internal documents for the program, maintaining files, obtaining office supplies, coordinating web and technology needs with the PSU technology department. Carry out other responsibilities and duties as assigned by the Director.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and two years experience required.
Administrative experience required. Examples include managing databases, doing mail merges, being the first point of contact for public inquiries, and arranging meetings and workshops.
Experience in website development and maintenance required.
Strong oral and written communication skills required.
Self-direction with demonstrated organizational skills required.
Computer skills required, including web design, photo editing, word processing, page layout and spreadsheets.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of academic and administrative procedures and practices within universities preferred.
Knowledge of and interest in transportation planning, particularly bicycle and pedestrian issues.

COMPENSATION
The annual salary is $35,568 plus an excellent benefits package including fully paid health care, reduced tuition rates at any of the OUS institutions for the employee or one dependent, and a generous retirement and vacation package.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
This position is a 0.70 – 1.0 FTE, twelve-month, fixed-term, Academic Professional appointment. Continued employment is contingent upon renewal of funding and satisfactory performance.
