Even though fall is threatening on the calendar, I hope you haven’t given up your summer riding state of mind. With temps set to soar this weekend, it should be great riding weather. Check out a sampling of the fun events happening this weekend…

Friday, September 9th

Midnight Mystery Ride
You know the drill: Meet up with friends old and new for a fun ride to a mystery destination. This month’s ride starts from Dot’s Cafe (SE 26th and Clinton).

Saturday, September 10th

Splash Dance
Who says we can only do Splash Dance during Pedalpalooza?! That’s right, the high temps have brought this favorite, fountain-dancing ride back. Bring your bathing suits, water guns and sound systems. Meet at Salmon Street Fountain at 2:30.

Food Cart Lover’s Ride
Join food cart aficionado Scott Batchelar for a tour of cart pods. The ride begins at 3:00 pm with appetizers and drinks at North Station (2730 N. Killingsworth) and then weaves through town for the remaining courses. Each stop is about 45 minutes.

Bike-in Movie: Wayne’s World
Roll over to the empty lot at NE Garfield and Failing at 8:00 to partake in this excellent film. Free event and there’s a group ride leaving after the movie. Bring something to sit on.

Sunday, September 11th

Tour de Lab
This ride, which usually gets over 1,000 participants is a fundraiser for Dove Lewis Emergency Animal Hospital. The routes (choose either 18 miles of flat or a hilly 35 miles) takes a tour of Portland via stops at three Lucky Lab Brewpub locations. There are fun and fully stocked rest stops, a big costume contest, and more.

Pain + Suffer’n Cyclocross Race
Just a few miles west of Portland out on Bald Peak, this race is sure to fill your needs for early season ‘cross racing. Races for all levels and event is sanctioned by OBRA.

What else is going on? If I missed something, feel free to shout it out in the comments and I’ll try to add it to the list.
