Pedalpalooza Recap: OMSI Science Ride

Buffered Bike Lane with a bike symbol and arrow pointing forward

Blowing stuff up was only part of the fun at the OMSI Ride. Lots of kids turned for this one and organizers say they got 4-times as many people as they expected! More photos below.

How many people showed up? About 100

Recap:
About two and a half hours of kids, parents, an attentive audience & interesting bikes, mild weather, a ride up & back from the circular park in the middle of Ladd’s Addition, Mintos-in-Coke explosions, frozen bubbles, a barrel of ping pong balls blown-up by liquid nitrogen (“Please stand back.”), a behind-the-scenes tour of OMSI’s exhibit fabrication shops, the physics of liquid nitrogen ice cream explained as it was made & dished out, OMSI-built bike trailers, a long stream of bicycle riders cruising on leafy-roofed avenues – what’s not to like?!
