By all accounts, yesterday was a strong opening day for Pedalpalooza 2011. Today the action starts early with free breakfast on the bridges and continues well into the night with the Midnight Mystery Ride.

See the full list of today’s rides and events below. For more details, visit the official Pedalpalooza calendar on ShifttoBikes.org.

7:15am Breakfast on the Bridges – Pedalpalooza Edition
Stop for free breakfast on the Steel and Hawthorne bridges.

11:45am Bring Out Your Dead (Laptop) Ride
Freegeek.org, (1731 SE 10th Ave)
You’re driving less, but what about buying less? After a short tour of Freegeek we’ll ride to some nerdy hot spots and then spin down for snacks and a short e-waste movie at the Red and Black cafe. Bring your slow Windows laptop and watch it run Firefox and cool Linux apps with ease. Includes a free raffle ticket for a rebuilt laptop.

4:00pm Tear down I-5 Ride
Meet: Top of the Morrison Bridge Cycle Track.
We will pedal to new heights and see unseen sights by bike. We will learn about the plan to remove I-5 and revitalize the Eastbank. Please join us to celebrate the future Eastbank Waterfront Park and Interstate Cycle Track network. Bring thorn resistant tubes or Mr. Tuffy’s. Not a ride to miss!

5:30pm Chalk the Town
Meet: Madison’s Grill (1109 SE Madison St)
It’s a dress-up ride…for streets! Bring your chalk and creativity.

5:30pm Sink or Schwinn
Meet: Vera Katz Statue, Eastbank Esplanade
Free bicycle!! I will be dropping my 1981 Schwinn World Sport off of the southeast side of the Hawthorne Bridge. Are you brave enough to swim from the south dock to north dock on the Willamette? Can you swim while holding a floating bike? First to the bicycle wins it. Bicycle will have floaties. I’m moving and would just rather not deal with craigslist. There will be a goodbye lap going counterclockwise around waterfront, then the action starts.

7:00pm World Premiere of Bike Smut 5: SPEED
Clinton St Theater (SE 26th Ave and Clinton)
2 showings: the first is at 7pm, the second is at 9pm.
Bike Smut’s 5th year of sexy bicycle videos. There are no DVDs and no chance to see it online. Inspiring movies by various artists who love bikes and sex! Demand has been so great we have added a second show at 9pm! Show is $6 for adults only(18+) and has always been a great party. Afterward we ride with the MMR and your favorite diva!

7:00pm Prince vs. Bowie
Meet: SE 50th and Division
Come run with the Devil & follow THE one and only Disco Trike while I rock the best “The Artist” & “The Thin White Duke” have to offer along with my favorite 80’s tunes! SLOW pace with frequent dancing stops. We’ll link up with the Midnight Mystery Ride for more late night hijinks again!

10:00pm Dingus Ride
Meet: Unthank Park (N Kerby Ave and Failing St)
Kazoos, bike dances, and master-blaster music comprise this ride for the Dingus Gang! You TOO can be a member of the Dingus Gang! Every rider gets a free kazoo. Not 2 tuff. Will end at a bar to meet up with MMR.

11:59pm Midnight Mystery Ride
Only your leader knows where you’re going so it’s good to be prepared with warm clothes and refreshments for all. More details here.
