The Sandy Ridge Super D race
series kicks off Sunday.

Welcome to the weekend folks. Just because it’s a little wet and cold outside, doesn’t mean you won’t find lots to do on a bike. Check out the events below and use the comments to share anything we left out.

Saturday, March 19th

8:30 am: Cycle Club Riding Clinics
Racer Sara Fletcher and trainer Kara Carlson from NW Personal Training will lead a series of clinics geared toward increasing your endurance and bike handling skills. This is a paid group session. See the website for more details.

9:00 am: Rapha Rides for Tohoku
Join Rapha for a ride and show of unity for Japan disaster victims. This ride is also happening in 21 other cities around the world. Meets in North Portland.

2:45 pm: Kidical Mass – An Urban Farm Adventure
This month’s Kidical Mass ride will venture to Northeast Portland where you and the kids can experience the new garden at Rigler Elementary, take a ride on the new NE Cully Blvd cycle track, and

Sunday, March 20th

12:00 pm: Sandy Ridge Spring Brake Super D
This is a very exciting new downhill race series that takes place less than an hour from Portland. Racing starts at noon and riders go off at two minute intervals. Registration fees benefit the ever-growing Sandy Ridge Trail System. Get out your mountain bike and give it a try!

2:00 pm: Bike Polo
Make this the weekend you finally give bike polo a try. I know you’ve been wanting to. Alberta Park is home to regular matches and the regulars are very open and friendly to newcomers.
