Job Title: Production Manager
Company/Organization: Community Cycling Center
General Position Summary: The Production Manager is responsible for the delivery of bicycles based on the production demands as set forth by the mission of the Community Cycling Center. With the support of the shop management team, the Production Manager will work to balance the internal and external demands for bicycle production from the Community Cycling Center bike shop. This position will require a team-focused approach, a high level of technical expertise, the capacity to anticipate demands, and the ability to provide coaching and feedback to ensure consistently high standards of quality. Experience in a high-volume bike shop environment, the ability to collaborate and a systematic approach to the delivery of bikes for our shop and programs will be expected of this position.

Responsibilities

Supervision of Bicycle Production (50%-70%)

• Manage a strategic inventory of new and used bicycles for Create a Commuter, Bike Club, and Retail Sale
• Oversee the production of finished bicycles that serve a specific purpose and are designed with a focus on the end-user
• Focus on the development of and adherence to policies and procedures that will ensure the success and growth of those tasked with bike production
• Analyze and anticipate barriers to meeting bike production goals and work collaboratively and proactively to identify solutions
• Ensure a well functioning shop work environment by ensuring tools and workspaces are well organized, adequately supplied, and prioritize the maintenance of a safe work environment
• Assess needs and opportunities for volunteer support; create and oversee systems to orient, train, support, and recognize skilled youth and adult volunteers throughout the organization

Strategic Planning and Delivery Evaluation (10%-25%)

• Collaborate with coworkers to evaluate capacities, determine deliverables, and balance the timing of production with demands
• Work with shop management team to evaluate opportunities, trends, and feedback to maximize delivery on program participant and customer needs
• Track and oversee the delivery of warranty related work for both customers and program participants
• Team with shop management to record and analyze the success of outlined objectives

Staff Evaluation and Training (10%-25%)

• Collaborate with shop management team to develop and execute staff training and skill development workshops
• Partner with shop management team to hire, train, and evaluate staff based on the quality and effectiveness of their work
