Best of the Worst film event is on Saturday.

Looking for an excuse to get some more leaves stuck in the fenders?  This weekend offers a little bit of everything, all over town.  Enjoy your week and ride safely.

Friday, November 5th

5:00pm-7:00pm: Be Safe and Be Seen
Come enjoy free tune-ups, a group ride, a reflective fashion show and more at Trimet’s “Be Safe and Be Seen” event at Pioneer Square downtown. Bike experts from the Bicycle Transportation Alliance and the Bike Gallery will be on hand to answer riding safety questions and help get your bike in shape for fall and winter riding.

6:00pm-9:00pm: First Friday Art by Bike
Join Pedal Bike Tours for a free, guided tour of central-east Portland’s First Friday art openings. Ride meets at the Pedal Bike Tours downtown location at 133 SW 2nd Ave and visits three events to view art, taste wine and enjoy the evening.

Saturday, November 6th

8:15am-4:00pm: Verboort Sausage Populaire
Join the Oregon Randonneurs on this free, open to the public ride beginning in Forest Grove and ending at the 76th Annual Verboort Sausage and Kraut Dinner in Mountaindale, OR. The ride features rest and snack stops and educational checkpoints along the way, designed to introduce people to the world of randonneuring. 8:00pm-10:30pm: Filmed by Bike–Best of the Worst
Come witness some of the most tragic and terrible submissions to the annual Filmed by Bike festival at this celebration of the rejected, happening at The Art Department, 1315 SE 9th. Previous jurors (including yours truly) will be on hand to advise and critique, as well as some past filmmakers who actually got it right. Event runs on loop until 10:30, so come and go as you please.

Sunday, November 7th

All Day: Cross Crusade #7
The Hillsboro Fairgrounds will play host this Sunday to yet another session in this year’s already notorious Cross Crusade cyclocross series. As always, all ages, bikes, and levels are welcome to participate or watch, and there’s plenty of mud to go around. Details on the event page here.
