Ahh… summer in Portland. The weather is looking great and the weekend is brimming with some excellent events. Get ready to haul, drink, race, and drool (in no particular order). What more could you want?

Saturday, August 7th

All day: Jackson’s Ride The Gorge

7:00am: Bikes ‘n’ Brew
A free, unsupported century featuring breweries from Portland to Hood River and in between. This ride features a good amount of climbing with frequent drink and rest stops and amazing views. 10:00am: Fiestan Bike Move
A great opportunity to feed your bike move addiction and your appetite for great Chamorro food. A move of about 4 miles where all are welcome to participate, with or without a trailer. Meet and load at 632 NE Russell St.

11:00am: Cycle the Dream
Ride to this year’s Northwest Natural Street of Dreams and get a discount on your ticket. This Building Green Council event will also feature bike tours, workshops, giveaways, bicycle-powered refreshments, and bike tune-ups. NW Skyline Blvd & NW Thompson Rd, all day.

12:00pm: Bridges by Bike Tour
This weekend marks the end of the PDX Bridge Festival and Portland Bicycle Tours is giving one more educational and informative tour of the bridges. $40.00, leaving from 345 NW Everett (earlier free tour is full.)

12:00pm: Summer Flatland BMX Jam
Annual flatland BMX fest. Watch these amazing trick-riders spin, balance, and flip their bikes in all sorts of impressive ways. Happens from noon to 7:00pm at Creston Elementary School (4701 SE Bush).

Sunday, August 8th

6:30am-7:00pm: Providence Bridge Pedal
An annual tradition for all levels and ages, the Providence Bridge Pedal routes thousands of riders over some or all of Portland’s 10 bridges (depending on route) in a car-free festival setting. Online registration open until Saturday night, or show up early to register Sunday morning. Start location depends on route.
