Ride Description

Ride Report
Rock fans gathered for a tour of Dandy Warhols history this past Monday. Accompanied by Zia McCabe from the band and Dan Kaufman’s disco trailer, we rode to the beat of Dandy tunes from SE through NW, stopping to see where “Welcome to the Monkey House” was recorded, where the video for “Bohemian Like You” was filmed, and Slabtown to watch a few music videos.

Then we continued through downtown, visiting the Odditorium, a practice and recording space and headquarters of their own Beat the World Records label and ending the night at Dante’s.

After a “Bohemian Like You” karaoke contest (versions included jazz, William Shatner style, freestyle and overly energetic) with Zia as the judge and first prize going to an Australian on vacation in the US who caught the ride by pure luck and couldn’t wait to update his Facebook page for his friends down under, riders had the chance to sing more songs with the Karaoke from Hell band on the stage where the Dandys’ fantastic “Godless” video was filmed.

Zia offered trivia and behind-the-scenes stories at every step of the way, answering questions and providing insight into the Dandy Warhols’ world and adventures.

Thanks to Jeff B. for his organization skills.
