Today’s Pedalpalooza menu is another feast of bike fun.
There are two options for sunset picnics at two amazing locations: Elk Rock Island on the Willamette and Rocky Butte Park. There’s also a chance to learn about Portland’s Labor History (followed by a screening of Breaking Away), feed yourself forbidden “corporate tacos”, and connect with your fellow crochet and knit-loving friends.

Cycle Seen: Slackers Breakfast

Vegan Baked Goods Ride
Papa G’s , SE 23rd Ave and Division St
1:45pm, Join us for some or all of this ride around town.
A ride hitting various cafes and bakeries where delicious vegan goods are to be had (cupcakes, muffins, cookies, cinnamon rolls, cake!). Starts at Papa G’s, SE 23rd and Division, heads over to the bike-thru window at Black Sheep via the Cellar Door, runs downtown and to the Pearl eventually ending at Sweetpea Baking at the vegan mini-mall at SE 12th and Stark with an optional “after-party” at Laughing Planet on Belmont (think vegan chocolate cookies!).
Urban Biking Workshop (BTA)

When you were a kid you probably biked, and it was easy. You did it barefoot. With an ice cream in one hand. No sweat. Now you look around you and think “Biking? Around all these cars? Scary!” Biking in the city doesn’t have to be scary, despite all the cars. In this workshop we’ll go over the skills that will make you safer and more comfortable on the road.

Elk Rock Island is a Portland gem. A seasonal island in the middle of the Willamette, Elk Rock sports trees, coves, cliffs, and wildlife – the perfect setting for a picnic with your friends. Bring along a dish to share and we’ll toast the sunset. Ride is approx six miles each way.
Bike Kiss-In
The Elk, SW Madison St and 3rd Ave (between 3rd and 4th in the middle of Madison)
5:30pm – 6:00pm, Timing is essential! Smooching begins promptly at 5:30!
Lip-lockin’ for the gridlocked! Bring a clever sign and your favorite make-out partner for a some jealousy-inducing action during rush hour. This event is NOT for singles.
Downtown High & Low Bar Bike Tour (21+)

Bar tour by bicycle. Shuffle board to be played. Bring all your Oregon bottle deposit money to spend in our smoke free parlors. Explore the areas Portlanders dare not to go. The tour area is within 2 miles of the Interstate Bridge and safety of the border. Working lights and helmets required. Multiple bailbond offices near by – if you desire.
Portland Labor History Ride
Waterfront Park, SW Ankeny St and Naito Pkwy (Seawall at the foot of Ankeny St. in the park)

Where did the IWW’s first Portland strike take place? What happened in 1934 down on the docks, and how did the police deal with it? Explore some of the significant and not-so-significant events and locations in Portland’s labor history. Five miles, with an encouraged but optional 2.5-mile spur at the end to a kick-ass film screening by the Portland IWW at Liberty Hall.
Casual Urban Ride With the Adventure Group

A casual 1-hour urban ride on the low-traffic streets and trails of Portland with the Adventure Group, a LBGT-friendly outdoors club. All levels welcome, helmet required.
