And the fun keeps on going…even on a Monday!

Lots of interesting and fun rides to consider today/tonight. Do you like urban history? Graffiti? Gelato? Pizza perhaps? If so, there’s a ride for you.

See the full list of rides below, or for more details visit the official Pedalpalooza calendar.

The Unnecessarily Fun Ride
Col. Summers Park, SE 20th and Belmont
1:30pm
A Bring your own Bike Rodeo and Circus Fun Bike-stravaganza! Bring toys, games, food, and friends. Meet other humans passionate about having fun, learn to juggle, or have a picnic. For kids of all ages. Free!

Crooked History Tour of Portland
Ladds Circle to Woodlawn Park, SE 16th and Harrison to NE Deakum and 8th
5:30pm – 7:30pm
Why are the Woodlawn neighborhood and the Ladd’s neighborhood strees crooked? Why is Couch Street not pronounced “Couch Street”? Where were the streetcar tracks before they were torn out? How did the parks get named?

Come ride on an historic tour of Portland with a local historian leaving from one crooked neighborhood (Ladds Addition) headed to another (Woodlawn). We will make little stops for discussion several times along the way. The trip will end at Woodlawn Park.

Graffiti Ride - Pedalpalooza

year’s Graffiti Ride.

Gelato Ride
Hollywood Bike Gallery, 5329 NE Sandy Blvd
6:00pm – 8:00pm
Meet at Hollywood Bike Gallery for a casual neighborhood ride with Team Rubicon to a gelato hot spot – just a little riding (about 6 miles) but lots of great gelato!

Epic Pizza Ride
Woodlawn Park (under the bridge), NE Dekum St and Bellevue Ave (park is 1/4 mile east of MLK on Dekum)
6:15pm – 11:15pm, caffeine and stamina recommended
Not to be outdone by the donut ride, this year’s pizza ride will be a haphazard yet precise expedition around the eastside of town to sample the “holiest” of foods. In the interest of “doing it better”, there will be more pizza stops and we’ll keep riding into the wee hours of the night. Hardcore pizza buffs and novices are all welcome to join us as we eat, ride, repeat over a course of many undisclosed miles. Who makes the best? Bring cash for pies, of course. No mooches. Those who endure the whole night will be rewarded. And call in sick the next day.

The Big Girls Ride
Eastbank Esplanade , 5 SE Madison St, Portland (Next to Vera Katz statue)
6:30pm – 7:30pm
This is a ride for curvy/fat/zaftig/rubenesque women. Big girls ride bikes too so let’s go for a ride together. Easy route on the east side of the Willamette River. Riders of all skill levels encouraged, nobody gets left behind.

Graf (Graffiti) Ride
Amnesia Brewing, 832 N Beech St
6:30pm, Leaving @ 7pm
Graffiti, it’s all around you and constantly changing. Things continuously getting bombed and buffed. Learn more about graffiti as we take a ride around North Portland studying and discussing it’s various manifestations. Post ride movie at secret location.

Biking Viking Ride (21 and over)
Norse Hall, 111 NE 11th Ave, Portland
7:30pm
Calling all Vikings and Valkyries! Don your finest Viking garb, attach horns to your helmets and embark on an urban biking adventure! We’ll meet at the welcoming Norse Hall Lounge for drinks starting at 7pm, then at 7:30 proceed to explore Portland’s Nordic history and culture, and even make an invasion (sack the Irish!). Bring cash for drinks, skol! Build your Viking Bike now — soon we shall set sail. No big hills, centrally located, leisurely paced. Soundtrack provided.
