Another day of exciting Pedalpalooza ride choices.
Tonight is the debut of Portland’s Kidical Mass and the reprise of one of last year’s coolest Pedalpalooza rides, the Sexy Cyclist Ride. You might also want to check out the Worst of Portland ride, and see the seedy underbelly of Portland’s vaunted bikeway network.

Bike Lunch
Waterfront park, SW Pine St and Naito Pkwy
12:15pm – 1:15pm, Every Friday

Now What? What to do When the Bike Path Ends.
Citybikes Annex, SE 8th Ave and Ankeny St Take Trimet (by cob bench/kiosks)
2:00pm – 5:00pm, depart at 2:15
Zen and the art of finding pleasant bike routes on neighborhood side streets, especially when the bike path alongside car, bus & truck traffic ends abruptly. Ride will end at Salmon Street Springs at 5:00 pm in time to hook up with “The Worst of Portland Ride” (unless noone wants to).
The Worst of Portland
That barren traffic island., SW Sheridan St and Naito Pkwy (Just south of I-405.)
5:15pm, We’ll ride at 5:30 and finish at the start of the Sexy Cyclist Ride.
Portland’s ego is growing even faster than its Urban Growth Boundary but this ride should solve that. Come frolic in the piss and broken glass strewn streets of car-obsessed Portland. It’s going to suck.
Kidical Mass
North Park Blocks, NW 8th Ave & W Burnside St (Meet at the playground.)
6:00pm – 7:00pm, Meet at 6pm. Safety briefing 6:15, ride leaves 6:30 – no dilly dallying!
Kidical Mass hits Portland! Founded in Eugene in April 2008 by Shane Rhodes, of Eugene’s Safe Routes to School program, and Paul Adkins of BikeFriday, this family friendly event is designed to draw attention to kids and families with the necessary reminder that kids are traffic too. This is a law-abiding easy ride in traffic on downtown streets. Helmets are required and decorations and bike bells are encouraged. There’s no fee but bring cash because we’re going for ice cream!
Remedial Ride: French Fries/Milkshakes Edition
Col. Summers Park, SE 20th and Belmont (meet by the bleachers)
6:00pm – 7:00pm, departs at 6pm SHARP! don’t be late! if you are, catch up at either location below.
Come with us as we support two of Portland’s newest (and delicious) food carts in inner SE.
We will meet at Col Summers park and head to Potato Champion (SE 12th and Hawthorne), where we will pick up our fries and then head to Sip (SE 21st and Tibbetts) for our milkshakes.
Sexy Cyclist Ride to Karaoke 2 Karaoke

Meet at 6:30, ride at 7:00
High Heels! a short Skirt! Hot Pants!!!… experience the feel of the wind on your thighs and show off those legs you sexy thing!
We’ll take our stylish flamboyance ’round the town, then meet up with those Krazy Karaokeista’s for the KARAOKE 2 KARAOKE PUB CRAWL and THEN dance into the wee hours. Oh yeah, did I mention a Fashion Show?
Bike Happy Hour with Mexican Delegation
Lucky Lab, 915 SE Hawthorne Blvd

International super-advocate Gil Penalosa (from Bogota, Colombia) is bringing a delegation of professionals from Mexico to the Carfree Cities conference. Come meet our guests and chat about bicicletas in two languages at this happy hour. Spanish knowledge is a plus but not required. Let’s show them a good time!
Solstice Ride
Peoples Coop, 3029 SE 21st Ave
9:00pm – 7:00am, leave Peoples around 10pm
Traverse local cinder cones as we celebrate the shortest night of the year. Ride leaves Peoples around ten and doesn’t stop until we see the sun rise. Ride your bike that you feel most comfortable riding on for hours. Bring something warm: it can get chilly at night. Bring food and drink as well. Lights (good lights with fresh batteries) and awareness of marked and unmarked hazards encouraged.
Dropout Bike Club Ride
Col. Summers Park, SE 20th and Belmont

The dropout bike club’s monthly freakbike social ride. Over the years, this ride has become the place to show off yer newest bicycle oddities. Come ride and socalize and probably end up by the river. All bikes welcome, but the pace is set by the freakbikes.

Bowie vs. Prince Mobile Dance Party
Col. Summers Park, SE 20th Ave and Belmont St

Bicycle dance party on wheels. Loud stereo system and 80’s dance music. Come dressed as your favorite 80’s Pop star and we’ll cruise and dance at locations all over the East side. Slow pace with frequent dancin’ stops. Bring lights. This ride is not a loop.
