The Community Cycling Center works to broaden access to cycling and its benefits through hands-on programs, volunteer projects, and our neighborhood bike shop. Essential job functions: The Program Director reports to the Executive Director and manages partnerships for existing and future Community Cycling Center programs for families, youth and adults. The Program Director will develop and manage programs; research, develop and report government and foundation grants; formulate and coordinate program evaluations; recruit, hire and train staff; communi cate with other Community Cycling Center staff to deliver programs and participate in special events.

Responsibilities:

* Manage current program needs including development of systems for data tracking, program registration, internal communications, inventory tracking, supply ordering, bike production needs; develop program procedures and policies, budgets, and staff trainings.

* Manage program inventory and supply orders.

* Revise program lesson plans and curriculum as needed.

* Develop and maintain strategic partnerships to expand access to bicycling in the Portland Metro region.

* Formulate and coordinate formal and informal evaluations of programs.

* Recruit, hire, train, evaluate and manage staff.

* Communicate with other organization teams (development, administrative, retail and production) regularly.

* Participate in organizational oversight along with other members of the Di rectors team.

Qualifications:
* Working knowledge of best practices in experiential education including but not limited to development stages of learning, inquiry-based learning, student-centered teaching, collaborative learning, and culturally-appropriate teaching, and multiple intelligences.

* Knowledge of program content including, but not limited to; basic bicycle maintenance, safe riding skills, route mapping, rules of the road, and bicycle resources.

* Knowledge of local, regional, and national bicycle programs and policies.

* Experience developing effective proposals for federal, state, or private funding.

* At least three years’ experience successfully managing staff.

* Ability to communicate effectively; both written and verbal.

* Proficient writing, editing, and proofreading skills.

* Ability to work with and interact positively with staff, board, advisors, donors, and vo lunteers.

* Masters Degree in relevant field preferred.

Reports To: Executive Director

Pay Rate and Benefits

Status: Regular, full-time, non-exempt

Compensation: $36,000 annual salary, Paid-time-off (PTO), health benefits after successfully completing evaluation period.
