Job Description
Westside Transportation Alliance (WTA) is seeking a Program Manager for the Carefree Commuter Challenge. The position is part time, temporary, and worth every minute of your abilities and passion for promoting sustainable transportation.
The CCC is a fun event during the month of July that encourages employees in the entire Metro Region to drive less. In its ninth year, this program has steadily introduced drivers of cars to transit, cycling, walking, and carpooling – a behavior change for a few days or even permanently. A creative, enthusiastic and well-organized Program Manager is essential to continue and improve upon our successful program elements. The Program Manager will work with the Executive Director in the initial planning and then take over the program making 2008 a blockbuster year!
The WTA is a transportation management association assisting employers to reduce auto trips to work. Our offices are in Beaverton at the B eaverton Central MAX Station.
The CCC Program Manager must have the ability to
–Plan and develop an innovative event
–Present ideas in a clear, enthusiastic and persuasive manner before a group and to individuals by phone and writing
–Make cold calls to secure donations from businesses
–Manage and inspire one or two interns
–Track, assess and report progress
–Set up and manage a database, update the website, and use basic Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint applications
Knowledge of and passion for auto trip reduction strategies – a plus
Willingness to take transit and/or bike for many trips – a must
Salary: $14,500 – 725 hours @ $20/hr
April through September
