The Community Cycling Center has just announced their annual Bicyclist Safety Mini-Grant Program. These grants (up to $5,000) are available for projects that, “promote the safety of bicyclists in Oregon.”
Last year, these grants helped fund the Share the Road Mural, a Shift helmet giveaway, and the popular Get Lit program.
The grants are available statewide and are made possible by funding from ODOT’s Transportation Safety Division.
Applications must be postmarked by Friday, January 5, 2007.
For more information visit the CCC website or contact Caitlin Scholl, Mini-Grants Coordinator at Caitlin [at] CommunityCyclingCenter [dot] org or (503) 546-8864.
In the spirit of taking every post to this blog and turning it into a brakeless fixie issue, maybe someone should apply for a grant to outfit fixies with front caliper brakes – or to buy the riders a whole lot of wooden sticks . . . 😉
But, seriously, this grant program is a grand idea and I am thrilled to see it continue.
