Welcome to (Bike) Portland
August 4, 2018 at 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Join BikePortland founder and editor Jonathan Maus for a ride that will help you get more out of cycling in Portland. We’ll cover lots of bases including how to stretch traffic law in your favor and unlock secrets of cycling infrastructure — like how to trigger lights without pushing a button, how to take advantage of bike boxes, how to legally split lanes, how to use crosswalks to your advantage, and more. This ride will also help you understand and tame those dangerous, four-wheeled beasts so you can replace fearful cycling with happy cycling!
Jonathan has observed and documented cycling in Portland since 2005 and will share historical context and commentary along the route.
Expect an urban adventure of 1.5-2 hours with an option to join fellow riders for bites and beverages at the end.
GEEKS AND WONKS ENCOURAGED!
HOST: Jonathan Maus
