ThinkBike Dutch Workshop (Eugene)
September 13 at 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
International expertise alert! Eugene is hosting Dutch planning professionals represented by the Dutch Cycling Embassy for a three-day ThinkBike Workshop this September. The Dutch Cycling Embassy visits cities around the world to share Dutch expertise and technology. As the world’s number one cycling country, knowledge from The Netherlands helps facilitate cycling as the most modern, efficient and sustainable method of transport.
Eugene is part of a larger movement to implement Dutch-inspired transportation solutions across the country! Our ThinkBike event will be happening at the same time as two others, one in Reno, NV and the other in Santa Cruz, CA. You can read about the larger context for Eugene’s participation in ThinkBike here.
The biking network in Eugene continues to expand, and the ThinkBike Workshop is going to push our momentum to the next level.
Join us Tuesday evening, September 13th, at 6pm at Drop Bear Brewery (2690 Willamette Street) for a short film screening, public talk, and panel discussion with Dutch planners Roland Kager and Sjors van Duren. They will focus on the topics of infrastructure and network design, combining cycling and public transport, traffic calming and circulation, and policies and budgets to prioritize cycling. We’ll also be joined by Dutch Cycling Embassy’s Chris Bruntlett, co-author of the new book Curbing Traffic. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to learn from the world’s premiere experts!
