The Street Trust #RideToSalem
June 6, 2017 at 9:30 am - 8:30 pm
Join us in bicycling to Salem on June 6th to make our priorities known at the first public hearing on HB 2017, the transportation funding package.
We ride for Safe Routes to School for Every Kid and especially for low-income families.
We ride for off-street bicycle and pedestrian paths.
We ride for more funding for public transportation and free transit passes for youth.
We ride for in-school bicycle and pedestrian safety education.
We ride for safe streets for all Oregonians.
We ride to say bicycling is part of the solution- not something to be targeted with a bike tax.
#RideToSalem with us June 6th!

Route: Willamette Scenic Bikeway, https://goo.gl/maps/rfuv1XrRb5S2 (subject to suggested improvements)
Mileage: 58 miles
Starting Location: Portland Urban Plaza, Portland State University
Starting time: 9:30 am (assuming 5:30 pm hearing confirmation)
This ride will be at a friendly, inclusive pace, but will not have support vehicles. Riders choose to ride at their own risk. (After all, we’re riding for safer facilities than we have now!)
We’ll do our best to help find options for riders who would like to get a ride back to Portland on Tuesday night in personal vehicles with bike racks of folks who will be driving down to the hearing. Others may choose to stay overnight and ride back to Portland on Wednesday the 7th. We encourage interested parties to coordinate with other riders via this Facebook event or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
