Ride for Westside chapter of BikeLoud
October 24 at 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm
“Calling all bicycling advocates! Do you want better bike infrastructure? More encouragement for cycling? More education about how drivers must yield to cyclists? More equity within cycling? BikeLoud is Portland’s all-volunteer, scrappy, grass-roots bike advocacy organization. And we’re growing! In addition to our normal city-wide efforts, we have local-level chapters. The idea is that citywide efforts miss out on folks who want to work on issues in their local areas.
This 30 minute ride preceeds the BikeLoud West chapter meeting. This is meant to identify Portland advocates to focus on issues West of the Willamette River. After the ride, we’ll hold a meeting, outdoors and spaced out under a covered location. We’ll plug you into existing advocacy efforts or find new advocacy projects based on the skillset and interests of attendees. BikeLoud has many volunteers who are also professionals in transportation, so we have resources to tap into.
Come just for the ride to meet amazing advocates. Or come just for the meeting. Even if you don’t have time for advocacy, but have knowledge or resources you can offer, please come!
4:45 pm: meet for ride at Salmon Street Fountain (1000 SW Naito Pkwy)
5:00 pm: start riding
5:30 pm: end ride at Paymaster Lounge (1020 NW 17th Ave). Begin BikeLoud West chapter meeting. Help change Portland.
6:30pm: end meeting”
