Providence Bridge Pedal
August 11 at 6:00 am - 1:00 pm
THE 24TH ANNUAL COMMUNITY CELEBRATION OF PORTLAND’S WILLAMETTE RIVER BRIDGES AND BICYCLING.
Join your friends and neighbors for the one opportunity each year to bike or walk on Portland’s car-free streets and bridges, including the upper decks of both the Marquam and Fremont bridges.
We’re excited to announce the Sellwood Bridge is back for our 2019 ride, and the heart of Providence Bridge Pedal remains intact. Except for Kids Pedal, all cyclists will cross the upper decks of both the Marquam and Fremont bridges. City of Portland restrictions on special events remain in place, so again we are unable to include the St. Johns Bridge in the 2019 ride.
Enjoy sunrise and a light breakfast on top of the Fremont Bridge with stunning views of downtown Portland, the Willamette River and the Cascades. Then start biking. The 23-mile route on I-405 to the Marquam Bridge then connects to the Main Ride.
From the Sellwood Bridge to the Fremont Bridge, this 20-mile ride offers all the fun and excitement that you have come to expect from a Bridge Pedal biking adventure.
Our traditional family-friendly ride, 12-mile ride will cross six downtown bridges and will also include biking on a car-free section of I-405 through downtown Portland.
Even the youngest cyclists can enjoy being part of Providence Bridge Pedal with this three-mile loop crossing the Hawthorne and Steel bridges. Adults are welcome, too, as long as they are chaperoned by a child age 12 or younger. Although this is a free event, registration is required. Kids Pedal is the one Providence Bridge Pedal event with a registration limit so sign up early.
