Portland Parks Foundation: State of the Union
March 11, 2019 at 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Part of the “Green Dreams” event series hosted by the Portland Parks Foundation.
New leadership is coming to Portland Parks & Recreation and Metro. PP&R is writing a parks plan for 2035. Metro’s third major green spaces bond will be on the November 2019 ballot. The Oregon Department of Transportation will spend $500 million in the Rose Quarter, some of it for new green spaces over I-5. Activists are greening the city in innovative new ways. City budgets are forcing new ways of serving the public. Everyone believes Portland needs a parks system worthy of the bigger city it is becoming . . .
The Portland Parks Foundation is gathering Portlanders for three evenings to launch a new parks movement!
On March 11th, we’ll get personal and global with key parks leaders: What transformed them into parks advocates? What is their vision for our city and its parks and open spaces? What parks across the world inspire their vision for Portland?
