6:30-6:50: PBOT Equity Matrix and Walking While Black (20 min)
Michelle Marx, PBOT Pedestrian Coordinator
Michelle will provide a brief overview of the PBOT equity matrix (developed in 2016) and clarify how this analysis was used to prioritize pedestrian needs in PedPDX. She will also brief committee members on the Walking While Black focus group (report available here) conducted as part of the PedPDX outreach process and explain how this feedback from Black focus group members influenced the content of PedPDX. PBOT Vision Zero has contracted with PSU to evaluate the impact of the 20-mph residential speed limit reduction. Additionally, an evaluation report of the 42 left turn calming pilot locations will be released at the end of the month. Dana will preview the findings of the upcoming “20 is Plenty” and Left Turn Calming evaluation reports. Additionally, per committee request, Dana will discuss the status of crosswalk enforcement actions and concerns about racial/social equity impacts.
