PBOT Bicycle Advisory Committee Meeting

NOTE: Meeting held virtually until further notice.
The twenty-member volunteer Bicycle Advisory Committee (BAC) meets monthly to review projects and discuss bike issues. The committee advises City Council and bureaus on all bicycle-related matters. The meetings are staffed by the Portland Bureau of Transportation bicycle coordinator. The public is encouraged to attend. Snacks and drinks are provided.

Rose Lane Project Update and Designs (6:15-7:10)
It has been just over a year since the Rose Lane Project was adopted by City Council. PBOT’s Transit Coordinator April Bertelsen will present a status update and lead a discussion with others from the Rose Lane project team, TriMet and the BAC. The team is seeking committee feedback on bicycle elements and context considerations to help inform the design of a few funded/in progress projects and future proposed projects in conceptual design. Topics to include shared bus/bike lanes, adjacent bike lanes, neighborhood greenways and more.
Oregon Walks Fatal Pedestrian Crash Report (7:10-8:00)
Ashton Simpson, Executive Director and Scott Kocher, Oregon Walks Board Member will present the findings and recommendations of their “Fatal Pedestrian Crash Report.” Though focused on the effect on walking, the types of behaviors and considerations identified in this report have a clear and understandable impact on all roadway users and especially on vulnerable roadway users.
