OBRA Annual Rules Meeting and Awards Banquet
January 18 at 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm
I encourage all OBRA members and people interested in OBRA to attend. At the meeting, you will hear my report which will include OBRA’s 2019 financials, racing statistics from 2019 with a comparison to previous years and some of the initiatives for 2020. You will hear from the OBRA staff on membership, marketing/development, juniors, OBRA’s competitions including the BAR, Oregon Cup, Prestige Series and OBRA’s Championships, our officiating program, the Portland Velodrome Committee and OBRA’s Women’s Committee.
The annual meeting will also include debates and votes on rule changes/proposals for 2020 and, we will vote in two new board members. Although the votes are taken from representatives of every OBRA member team, I encourage you to participate in the discussion even though you are not a voting delegate.
Information on the annual meeting can be found here: industry.obra.org/annual-rules-meeting-and-awards-party-save-the-date-2019/. It includes the meeting agenda, proposed rule changes and the list of candidates that are running for the two open board positions.
Following the meeting, we will be hosting the OBRA annual awards ceremony from 6-8 pm at the same location. The awards ceremony includes a meal and drinks and is free of charge.
The awards that will be given are:
– Overall and age group BAR winners
– OBRA Women’s Prestige Race Series
– Oregon Cup
– Junior Cyclocross Series
I am excited about these events and look forward to seeing you there.
– Chuck Kenlan, OBRA executive director
