Lombard Multimodal Safety Project Open House (ODOT)
March 13 at 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
This project will improve safety for cars, bicyclists and pedestrians along North Lombard, specifically between N Fiske Ave and N Wilbur Ave. A reduction in travel lanes will begin at N Newman Avenue to N Wilbur Ave to best accommodate a new center turn lane and bike lanes. The project also includes many pedestrian improvements throughout the corridor such as new crossings, audible pedestrian signals and ADA ramps.
This project will improve safety for all modes along US30 BY/N Lombard Street between N Fiske Ave and N Wilbur Ave. A reduction in travel lanes and parking will begin at N Newman Avenue to N Wilbur Ave to accommodate a new center turn lane and bike lanes.
This project will improve safety along US30 BY/Lombard, which is currently ranked as the 11th highest crash corridor in the City of Portland based on the frequency of both fatal and serious, near-fatal crashes for all types of road users. The project’s elements include adding a median with turning lane, bike lanes, and updated pedestrian crossings. The project is being designed and constructed by ODOT. The Portland Bureau of Transportation is designing and constructing traffic signal and ADA curb ramp improvements at the intersection of US30 BY/N Lombard Street and Fenwick Ave.
