Earth Day Policy Ride and BikeLoudPDX West meetup
April 24 at 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

“Join BikeLoud West and Bureau of Environmental Services (BES) Tree Expert Lea Wilson on a 2-hour Policy Ride to learn more about NW PDX Bioswales and Street Trees.
This ride will be followed by a meetup with BikeLoud West to talk about ideas for making sure 25% of all trips in Portland go by bike in 2030.
Bioswales are Rain Gardens that can also function to narrow streets and make them safer for all road users. https://www.portland.gov/bes/stormwater/about-green-streets
Field studies on Street Trees confirm that when trees are present along streets, there is a change in motorists’ behavior with a traffic calming effect. Plus trees and bioswales are important habitat, cool heavily paved areas, and make cities more livable. https://www.columbiaslough.org/blog/bes-trees-part-2
Learn more and enjoy a wonderful Earth Day Adventure with BikeLoud West and BES!”
