Earth Day Policy Ride

April 22 at 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

“Join BikeLoud West and Bureau of Environmental Services (BES) Tree Expert Lea Wilson on a 2-hour Policy Ride to learn more about NW PDX Bioswales and Street Trees.

Bioswales are Rain Gardens that can also function to narrow streets and make them safer for all road users. https://www.portland.gov/bes/stormwater/about-green-streets

Field studies on Street Trees confirm that when trees are present along streets, there is a change in motorists’ behavior with a traffic calming effect. Plus trees and bioswales are important habitat, cool heavily paved areas, and make cities more livable. https://www.columbiaslough.org/blog/bes-trees-part-2

Learn more and enjoy a wonderful Earth Day Adventure with BikeLoud West and BES!
Spring of #BikeLove
This ride repeats on Sunday, April 24 at 1PM.”
