Cycle Oregon Route Kickoff Party
January 30, 2019 at 6:00 pm
The Portland Art Museum will be buzzing with excitement as Cycle Oregon—a Portland-based nonprofit and one of the country’s premier providers of fully supported cycling events—announces its 2019 ride lineup. The doors for its annual kickoff party, which is open to the public, open at 6 p.m.
Cycle Oregon’s ride destinations and routes are always kept tightly under wraps until the kickoff party. Both the ride details and launch party are highly anticipated by returning cyclists and Cycle Oregon newcomers alike, as is demonstrated by the line of people waiting annually at the door.
For 2019, Cycle Oregon is offering three distinct events: Classic, the organization’s flagship, seven-day ride in September; GRAVEL, a weekend-long event featuring gravel and road rides in May; and Joyride, a one-day, women-only ride in June. Each event welcomes riders of all abilities to explore the state’s renowned natural beauty on two wheels, plus connects them with welcoming rural towns.
The first 500 guests to arrive at the kickoff party receive access to early registration (beginning at 9 p.m. on Jan. 30) for Cycle Oregon’s Classic. New for 2019: the registration code for one of those 500 partygoers is a Golden Ticket, which provides free entry for the 2019 Cycle Oregon Classic.
Registration for all three rides will open to the public at noon on Thursday, Jan. 31. Register online at www.cycleoregon.com.
