Community Bike Ride
July 8 at 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
This ride is for our Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) and/or LGBTQ+ community. All levels and all ages welcome! Hosted by Wild Diversity and Gladys Bikes
Join us for a leisurely, nobody-left-behind 5-mile bike ride loop. We will start at Gladys Bikes (2905 NE Alberta St) where our friends there will provide safety checks for your bike before the ride. We’ll roll out at 6pm so come as early as 5:00pm if you need bike support from Gladys. The ride will start down Going St towards Williams Ave, north past Peninsula Park, and back east on Holman St where we will end at Alberta Park with Sizzle Pie pizza for all. There are a few small hills and we will pause at the top of them to keep our group together.
We anticipate the ride will take about an hour. If you need a bike, message us to arrange a Biketown bike for you at no cost. Helmets are strongly encouraged. We are aware of the risks that COVID-19 poses and we want to keep everyone safe, while providing a way to come together and build community outdoors.
Here are our COVID precautions:
– We will limit the number of participants to 25.
– We encourage all to maintain 6 feet distance from each other.
– At Gladys Bikes: One person allowed in the shop at a time, please wear a mask.
– We will provide masks to those who don’t have their own. We strongly encourage everyone to wear a mask. We will provide a hand washing station at Alberta Park to enjoy pizza more safely. One person will serve the pizza while wearing gloves and a mask.
