Central City in Motion Open House
July 23 at 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Join the Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) on July 23 for an open house on a series of Central City transportation improvements.
Stop by anytime between 5-7 p.m. to meet with PBOT and TriMet staff, weigh in on projects entering design, and learn about projects nearing construction, including:
1. Changes to NW Everett: Coming fall 2019
A new Bus and Turn lane will replace one of the existing travel lanes on NW Everett Street and run from NW Broadway to the ramp up to the Steel Bridge. The ramp from southbound Naito Parkway to the Steel Bridge will close. This will improve transit reliability and access to the Rose Quarter, benefitting Portlanders who ride TriMet lines 4, 8, 16, 35, 44 and 77.
2. New bus lane on Burnside Bridge: Coming fall 2019
New dedicated bus lane running eastbound will improve reliability on TriMet lines 12, 19 and 20. Wider bike lanes in both directions will make cycling more comfortable.
3. Improvements to NW Flanders, Naito and SW 4th: Coming 2020/21
Infrastructure improvements will make cycling safer and easier, new signals will improve traffic operations and pedestrian safety, and a proposed Bus and Turn lane on SW 4th Avenue will make transit more reliable. *** Exclusively for open house attendees – get a special Better Naito Forever sticker and/or temporary tattoo at the event! ***
We’re making it easier to travel around the Central City by transit, bike, scooter or on foot. Leave your car at home and try something new! We’ll be giving out Hop Fastpasses, BIKETOWN discounts and more at the open house to get you started.
Refreshments and activities for kids will be provided. To request translation, interpretation, modifications, accommodations, or other auxiliary aids or services, contact
(503) 823-5291, Relay: 711.
