**Interested participants must register by October 20th, using the link below:

The Multnomah County-Racial and Ethnic Approaches to Community Health (REACH) is a federally funded program that receives grant funding from the Center of Disease Control (CDC) to improve health outcomes and reduce health disparities among Multnomah County’s African-American and African Immigrant/Refugee populations. REACH does so through policy, systems, and environmental (PSE) changes in partnership with our local communities. REACH has three initiative strategies that strive to improve community overall well-being and health: 1) Community-Clinical Linkages, 2) Nutrition, and 3) Physical Activity.

REACH’s physical activity strategy focuses on how the built environment promotes physical activity in a safe way, for example: How do communities of color gain access to more sidewalks or bike lanes with proper street lights to make us feel safer when we engage in active transportation.

This transportation workshop will provide tools so the Black community can be strategically involved with plans for Greater Portland. While building awareness of how transportation development influences communities’ health outcomes through the built environment.

If interested, the workshop will be held virtually on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2020 from 4:00 PM – 6:15 PM. Participants will receive a virtual link after registration. Please register before midnight on Tuesday, Oct 20, 2020. We are limiting the workshop to 30 participants on a first come first serve basis
