Bikin’ Betties PDX Monday Night Ride
August 5 at 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 7:00 pm on Monday, repeating until August 26, 2019
Join us for our weekly ride! Each Monday we’ll ride for 10-15 miles around town. The route changes each week, but the meeting spot stays the same. We ride at a social pace which means no one gets left behind. Riders of all experience levels are welcome!
Invite your friends, see ya there!
What you need: Working front and rear lights, spare tubes so you’re not stranded with a flat, a lock, your ID, and it’s always a good idea to wear a helmet.
About us: Bikin’ Betties is a weekly bike ride for women, trans folks of all identities, nonbinary and gender non-conforming folks. It’s a great way to meet fellow cyclists, get a workout, learn bike routes around our city, and become more skilled and confident on our bikes. Bikin’ Betties is about creating a safe and supportive cycling community for those whose are traditionally excluded.

We ride AS traffic and NOT AGAINST it. We stop at red lights, yield the right of way and let cars pass as best we can. We don’t block intersections. We are cool to both our fellow riders and the other traffic on the road.
REMINDER: The goal has always been to create a safe environment for all riders, but we cannot control every rider’s behavior, nor do we desire to. We promote personal responsibility, and it is each rider’s responsibility to take care of themselves, and if they choose to ride with us, then they accept those risks inherent in riding a bicycle with a large group of other people riding bicycles.
