Bike Loud West chapter (ride & meeting)
December 5, 2021 at 1:45 pm
“Calling all bicycling advocates! Do you want better bike infrastructure? More encouragement for cycling? More education about how drivers must yield to cyclists? More equity within cycling? Bike Loud is Portland’s scrappy, all-volunteer, grass-roots bike advocacy organization. In addition to our normal city-wide efforts, we now have local chapters. The idea is to allow more focus on issues of neighborhood-level importance.
We will host a 50-minute and then hold the Bike Loud West chapter meeting. This chapter covers issues West of the Willamette River. We’ll plug you into existing advocacy efforts or find new advocacy projects based on the skillset and interests of attendees. Bike Loud has many volunteers who are also professionals in transportation, so we have resources to tap into.
Come just for the ride to meet amazing advocates. Or come just for the meeting. Even if you don’t have time for advocacy, but have knowledge or resources you can offer, please come!
1:45 pm: Gather downtown at Director Park
2:00 pm: Begin ride
3:00 pm: End ride at NW 9th Ave & Couch and begin chapter meeting on rooftop*.
4:00 pm: End meeting
*Details will be added for how latecomers can gain access to the building to join the meeting.
End location: 135 NW 9th Ave (meeting on rooftop of organizer’s apartment building)
(Note that the normal timing of our Bike Loud West chapter meetings is the 4th Sunday of each month, but this will be our only meeting of Nov-Dec due to holidays. Normal cadence will resume in January.)”
