Bike Break – Biking tips and live Q&A

September 29 at 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

[Event will be streamed on Facebook Live]

Take an afternoon break to love your bike. In September’s webcast we’ll talk about biking with kids. Learn about carrying kids on your bike or trailer and teaching children to ride safely. When you bike together, getting there is half the fun!

Plus, we’ll take your questions live. Feel free to post your questions in advance.

We’ll have a special drawing for a multi-purpose scarf printed with the Portland bike Map – tune in for details on how you can win this fabulous prize!

Bike Break is a presentation of Portland Sunday Parkways and is brought to you by SmartTrips, Community Cycling Center, Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT), and made possible with support from Metro and the Federal Transit Administration.

Your hosts: Timo works in PBOT’s SmartTrips program, leading Portland By Cycle tours of the city’s great bikeways, hosting classes on Cycling Essentials and more, and editing PBOT’s series of bike and walk maps. He is a Barista Emeritus of Breakfast on the Bridges.

Matt is the Volunteer and Events Manager for the Community Cycling Center. He most recently lived in Salt Lake City where he coordinated a mentor program for refugee youth and climbed as much as possible. When he is not working you can find Matt fiddling with fountain pens, hiking, climbing, reading, playing board games, or bumbling around town on his bike.

Maddeline is the Community Cycling Center’s Youth Programs Manager. She joined the CCC in February 2018 after studying Recreation at the University of Georgia and spending a couple years as a local bicycle mechanic. She helps create and manage the magic behind the summer bike camp program and provides support for camp staff. Sometimes you may see her in and around the shop as well!
