Weekend Event Guide: Sausage Fest, NOISE, Critical Mass food delivery and more

It might be Halloween, but there is nothing scary about this weather. Unless you fear a bit of cold in the morning, now is a great time to enjoy a picture-perfect fall in and around Portland.

As luck would have it, our weekend selections offer up an array of options, including two different ways to enjoy the 85th annual Verboort Sausage Festival.

Have fun out there, and don’t forget an extra layer (or three).

Saturday, November 2nd

Verboort Populaire – 9:00 am at McMenamins Grand Lodge (Forest Grove)
This annual, 65-mile officially sanctioned Oregon Randonneurs event coincides with the legendary Verboort Sausage Festival. Punch your randonneuring card and discover some gorgeous rural roads in full fall splendor. More info here.

Endless Summer Saturdays – 9:30 am at Visitation Church (Verboort)
The Club Roule is kicking off their Saturday ride series with a special trip to the Verboort Sausage Fest. Their route is 47 miles with under 3,000 feet of climbing. More info here.

NOISE Ride – 12:00 pm at Fresh Pot (N)
The infamous North Oregon International Singlespeed Exhibition welcomes all comers for a day of singlespeed mayhem on north Portland’s best hidden riding and hang-out spots. After party with music and Goldsprints is 7:00 pm at Killer Queen Cycles on Lombard. More info here.

The Amazing Postmate Bike Race – 3:00 pm at Ladd’s Circle (SE)
Test your food delivery skills in various competitions then ride in “World’s First Critical Mass Food Delivery”. More info here.

Sunday, November 3rd

Cyclocross Crusade #7 – All day at Rainier High School (Rainier)
This classic course and venue is back for what should be another sparkingly fun weekend. Get ready for a topographically challenging day on “the big hill” and high speeds on the smooth downhills. More info here.

Banks-Vernonia for the Weekend Rider – 10:00 am at B-V Trailhead (Banks)
Now is a great time to cruise on the B-V. There will be plenty of sun and leaves for days! Join Portland Bicycling Club ride leader Khaliyah Williams-Rodriguez for this leisurely-paced, 42-mile ride on one of the best carfree paths in the state. More info here.
