The annual costumed edition of the Cyclocross Crusade race in Bend is known as one big party on wheels. This year’s event was no exception.

Judging from reports and photos brought back by our contributor Drew Coleman, the craziness was at all-time levels. There were 31 DNFs (did not finish) in the singlespeed category alone as the lure of hand-ups at the Trusty Switchblade tent was simply too tempting. According to Coleman, the team created a full-on speakeasy bar near the big run-up that required a password to get in. Beyond that, there appeared to be plenty of other opportunities on the dry, dusty course to sufficiently hydrate.

Oh, and did I mention that most people dressed up in all manner of silly costumes?
