What’s the going pay for bike mechanics today? Back 40-odd years ago when I dabbled in it, minimum wage ($2.10/hour) plus free pizza was standard, and you had to be able to disassemble and reassemble an internally geared hub.

Actually, pay isn’t that much different than in your day. And with no pizza. Knowledge of internal hubs not necessary anymore.
