Cherry Pie Road Race – All day in Independence, Oregon (southwest of Salem)
Part of the Willamette Valley Classics Tour, Zone 5 Promotions has brought back a true sping classic to the region. Route is a 30-mile loop southwest of Salem. More info here.
Bridges to the Sky Ride – 10:30 am to 2:00 pm at Powell Park
Join one of Portland’s best ride leaders — Timo Forsberg from the Portland Bureau of Transportation — as he shares a kid-friendly route of several bridges and ends at the Aerial Tram for the “Celebrate Moms” event. Part of the PBOT By Cycle ride series. More info here.

Sunday, May 13th
Bike More Challenge 25 in a Day Ride – 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at Willamette Park
Tom How from Puddlecycle will lead this Mother’s Day morning ride that will earn you the “20 in a day” badge if you’re signed up for the Bike More Challenge. The route is a scenic loop around the Willamette River that hits several of the area’s best off-street bike paths including Oswego Iron Heritage Trail and the Trolley Trail. More info here.
Kidical Mass PDX CycloFemme Ride – 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at Westmoreland Park
The global CycloFemme ride comes to Portland and meets up with Kidical Mass for the perfect Mother’s Day ride. Everyone is welcome — including “manbassadors”! Led by BikePortland Family Biking columnist Madi Carlson, expect a 10-mile route (relatively long for a kids ride). More info here.
Mother’s Day ride in East County – 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at Reynolds Middle School Parking Lot
Eileen Holzman with the Portland Wheelmen Touring Club will lead this 30-mile excursion of bucolic east county farm roads. More info here.
Corvidae Bike Club Ride – 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Peninsula Park
Corvidae is a welcoming group of folks who like getting together to ride bikes. This is their monthly club ride and it’s open to everyone. “Basically, if you’re not an asshole, come join us.” More info here.

The meet-up for the Bike More challenge says Willamette Park, but the bikeportland venue map erroneously shows Willamette Park as a residential street in the Multnomah Village area, some 40 blocks inland (and uphill!).
The event’s facebook page gives this Willamette Park location as the meet-up spot: 6599 SW Beaver Ave, Portland, OR 97211
Yes, the Bike More Challenge ride meets at the Willamette Park that is directly adjacent to the Willamette River. In fact, the picnic shelter where we meet is only a hundred feet from where this infamous fence once stood:
