Friday, August 11th

BikePacking 101 – 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Western Bikeworks (1014 NW 17th)
This free clinic will cover the basics of bike adventuring. If you’d like to join Western Bikeworks for an upcoming overnighter, come and learn more about it (and this clinic is required for anyone who plans to join them). Enjoy free snacks and drinks and even get a shop discount on bikecamping gear just for showing up. More info here.

Midnight Mystery Ride – 11:59 pm at a mystery location
We’re having perfect nighttime biking weather and there’s no better way to enjoy it than rolling the streets with a bunch of other people on bikes. MMR is a Portland tradition that everyone should experience. More info here.

Saturday, August 12th

Sorella Forte Women’s Club Ride – 9:00 am at River City Bicycles (706 SE Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd)
Join the wonderful women of Sorella Forte for this weekly group ride. Be ready for a spirited ride of about 30-40 miles. More info here.

Thee Holy Mountain – 9:00 am at Zigzag Ranger Station
Another excellent adventure planned by the folks from the Unpaved riding group. The routes promise a memorable mix of gravel roads, forest paths, loamy trails, and even some downhill singletrack. Please read the detail page for more details and warnings about the route and which type of bike works best for the big descents and rustic roads. More info here.

Beginner Friendly Road Ride – 10:00 am at Western Bikeworks (1014 NW 17th)
A short and easy ride with lots of smiles from the excellent experts at Western Bikeworks. Free Stumptown coffee before the ride. More info here.

Oregon Handmade Bike Show – 10:00 am to 7:00 pm at Cathedral Park Place (6635 N Baltimore Ave)
This is the 10th annual edition of our local handmade bicycle show. This year has a new venue, new exhibitors, and a fresh coat of paint to re-invigorate the handmade builder scene. Bridge Pedal participants get 1/2 off the price of admission. Pre-sale tickets are $10 and come with a free pint glass. More info here.

Portland Cycling Cider Century – 11:00 am at Portland Cider House (3638 SE Hawthorne Blvd)
Like local cider? This ride will explore seven different cider breweries in Portland. Bring plenty of cash and keep your tastes reasonable so you can enjoy the whole tour and still steer straight. Check the route at the detail page.

Sunday, August 13th

Bridge Pedal – 7:00 am at various starting locations
22nd annual event is a must-do for all Portlanders and offers the rare opportunity to bike carfree on our major bridges. Lots of route options — including a Kid’s Pedal. More info here.

Sauvie Shootout – 9:00 am at Ovation Coffee (941 NW Overton)
Portland’s premiere weekend world championships. Come out and test your fitness against the fast and fun-loving crew of speed demons that show up each week. Ride splits into different groups so you can fine-tune your training. More info here.

Oregon Handmade Bike Show – 11:00 am to 4:00 pm at Cathedral Park Place (6635 N Baltimore Ave)

Tour of Westside Suburbia – 10:00 am from Shute Park (750 SE 8th Ave in Hillsboro)
A 37-mile loop that will tour through the streets of Aloha, Beaverton, Cedar Hills, and beyond. Expect a slow and leisurely pace in the 10-13 mph range. Ride is hosted by the Portland Wheelmen Touring Club. More info here.

Zoobomb – 8:30 pm at The People’s Bike Library of Portland (SW 13th and Burnside)
These warm summer nights are a perfect time to try the time-honored Portland tradition of “bombing” down the West Hills. Bring MAX fare and get dropped off in Washington Park and enjoy the ride. More info here.

Can you buy tickets at the door for the bicycle show, or are they all pre-sale?
