Saturday, April 8th
Forest Park Ramble – 9:00 am at Ristretto Roasters Coffee (3808 N Williams Ave)
Friends on Bikes — a new group to encourage women of color to ride bikes — is following up their successful inaugural ride with a ramble through Forest Park. They’ve got a 24-mile route planned. Expect some dirt and little rocks and a bit of mud — followed by lunch at Las Primas for empanadas. More info here.
Team AF Inaugural Ride – 9:30 am to 12:30 pm at Upper Left Roasters (1204 SE Clay Street)
Looking for a group to ride with? Team AF is a new Women/Trans/Femme team that’s now recruiting members for its first season. This ride will double as a social meetup, so get ready to meet some rad people. Is this team for you? Co-founder Jordan says, “We’re trying to reach women who are interested in racing or have raced in the past but who aren’t interested in an ultra-competitive, results-focused, time-intensive team environment.” More info here.
Off-road Cycling Plan Community Event – 1:00 to 4:00 pm at New Columbia Skills Park (N Woolsey & Trenton)
The City of Portland is in the outreach phase of their Off-road Cycling Master Plan and they need to hear from you about where to build bike trails and what kind of trails to build. This is a family-focused event where you can expect free food and a raffle! Bring your bikes to try a few laps on the New Columbia skills park. More info here.
Mike Hall Celebration of Life – 6:00 to 10:00 pm at Velo Cult Bike Shop & Tavern (1969 NE 42nd)
Mike Hall was a legend in his own time, a towering yet humble figure in the world of off-road endurance cycling. He was killed last week after being hit by a driver while competing in a race in Australia. Velo Cult will host a celebration of Mike’s life. More info here.

Sunday, April 9th
Silver Star Prison Break – 9:00 am at Cape Horn Trailhead (Mile post 26 off Highway 14)
Ready for some adventure? Join unpaved enthusiasts for a “rugged gravel adventure route” in Skamania County. 52 miles, 6,500 feet of climbing and only half the route is paved. It will be hard, but it will be beautiful. More info here.
Sauvie Shootout – 9:00 am at Ovation Coffee (941 NW Overton)
This is the hottest new group ride in town. We’ve heard rave reviews after its first few editions and the turnout has been very healthy. It’s a training ride out to Sauvie Island then up into West Hills and back to northwest. If you want to get stronger and ride with a group this is the event for you. More info here.
Portland Tweed Ride – 2:00 to 5:00 pm at Westmoreland Park
Dress in your best turn-of-the-century finery, grab your tea kettles and roll out for a charming good ride with wonderful people. It’s time for tweed! What better way to welcome the spring riding season than this always-enjoyable social cycling tradition. More info here.
