Bike limbo, flatlanders, jousting & more! A 2014 Bike Fair photo gallery

2014 Bike Fair-2

How low could you go? The bike limbo competition was fierce at Saturday’s Bike Fair.

While the Sprockettes deservedly got most of the spotlight at the Bike Fair on Saturday, there was a bunch of other great action.

It felt so good to finally have the fair at Colonel Summers Park again after several years at a different location. Colonel Summers is the fair’s rightful home and there have been many years of bike fun memories made on that patch of pavement near the tennis courts. Saturday’s events added to that lore by showcasing all types of hijinks. There was bike limbo, tall-bike ring toss, foot-down derby, a flatland BMX trick riding exhibition, the Sprockettes relay race (featuring yours truly!), and an epic tall-bike jousting duel.

Here are more photos of the action and some faces from the crowd….

Sprockettes Relay Race

In honor of their 10th anniversary, the Sprockettes hosted a relay race. I jumped at the chance to take part. We had to do several of their trademark tricks, including applying make-up. Special thanks to J-Rock for taking these next three pics…

These guys did great for being first-time jousters.

Thank you to all the volunteers from Shift who made the Bike Fair great again. And of course a big thanks to everyone in the community that made the 2014 Pedalpalooza a huge success.

We are already looking forward to making it even bigger and better next year!

The last photo in the relay race section is by far my favorite.

you weren’t required to wear a cowboy hat in the ring toss. . . but it helped.
