SALEM – The Oregon Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee will hold its next meeting 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 18 in Portland, at the Oregon Department of Transportation’s Region 1 headquarters, 123 NW Flanders. Agenda items include discussions about the ConnectOregon V application review process, ODOT Maintenance practices as they relate to biking, and Enhance It funding for 2017 – 2020.
Those who wish to testify are encouraged to sign up on the public comment sheet provided at the meeting. General guidelines: provide written summaries when possible and limit comments to 3 minutes. If you bring written summaries or other materials to the meeting, please provide the chairperson with a copy prior to your testimony.

While soliciting public input is always good, the question I have is what (if anything) ODOT plans to do with the input this committee might be expected to receive?
From your last article on this committee I see that the topics under consideration include:
* development of the new Oregon Bicycle and Pedestrian Modal Plan,
* ODOT’s new Active Transportation Section, and
* the department’s new intermodal policies.
Perhaps this is *the* venue for getting some traction on, say, Barbur?
Why am I not optimistic?
That seems to be the same day another statewide entity (the Oregon Transportation Commission) is in town too – a twofer?

And, of course it’s in the middle of the day, like all the OBAP meetings, so the majority of working people can’t attend.
