2013 Pedalpalooza poster by Fred DeMeglio.

Feast your eyes on the 2013 Pedalpalooza poster. Isn’t it a beauty? This year’s poster was made by very talented designer Fred DiMeglio of Man vs. Ink (you might have seen his posters at BikeCraft 2010).

Pedalpalooza is that beloved yearly tradition organized by the fine folks at Shift. It’s three weeks of great rides and events all thrown into one big pot of bike fun. Each year Shift puts out a call for artists and they create an official event poster. The poster has become a great tradition in its own right and DeMeglio’s creation definitely keeps the tradition alive.

Get ready to see this poster popping up all over town as well as in the Portland Mercury (both online and in print). It will be printed by Stumptown Printers (an esteemed Pedalpalooza sponsor). And as a special exciting bonus… Shift is also producing bike pennants this year. It’s also worth noting that the poster art and associated costs are made possible by the generous sponsorship of the Portland Bureau of Transportation.

Pedalpalooza kicks off with a big bike parade on June 6th. It’s time to start getting the word out and telling all your friends about it. Speaking of which, Shift needs your help in distributing the posters once they are printed up. If you can take a stack and get them posted in your neighborhood, drop me a line and I’ll put you in touch with the right people. Check out the official event calendar on ShiftToBikes.org and stay tuned for more coverage.
