Bike to Blazers is this Sunday (4/3)! I hope you’re ready to show the NBA how we roll in Portland.

We still have a few tickets left, so if you haven’t grabbed some already, you can order them online here (don’t forget to use passcode “bikeblazers” to get special package).

After our post with all the event details last week, I’m happy to announce that five people have stepped up to lead group rides to the Rose Garden. Below are the meet-up spots and times (for reference, the game starts at 6:00 pm):

    Southwest

Salmon Street Fountain — 4:00 pm
    Ride leader: Jonathan “J.R.” Reed
Location: Waterfront Park where Salmon meets Naito Parkway
Meetup at 4 and roll out at 4:15. Stragglers have a short way to go to catch up. With enough interest, there may be a brief detour to our neighbors at Upright Brewing’s tasting room prior to arena arrival.

    North

Saraveza (1004 North Killingsworth St.) — 4:30 pm
Ride leaders: Hau and Olivia (there will be lots of kids/families on this ride!)
Location: SW corner of Killingsworth and Michigan

    Peninsula Park — 4:00 pm
    Ride leader: Jaimes Valdez
Location: SW corner of the park at Ainsworth and Albina

    Southeast

    Stumptown Coffee — 4:15 pm
    Ride leader: Rob Sadowsky
Location: SW corner of SE Belmont and 34th

    Central Eastside

    Bikeasaurus — 5:00 pm
    Ride leader: Becky Morton
Location: 1337 SE MLK Jr Blvd (MLK at Madison)

All rides will end up at the southern portion of the Rose Garden campus in front of The Game restaurant and the fountain. Bike to Blazers coincides with the “Green Game” so there will be a lot of activities and booths going on in the plaza. Come early to enjoy dinner and drink(s) (free with $35 ticket package!).

And remember, even if you don’t have tickets to the game, we’d love to have you join us on the rides and at the pre-game festivities!

One more update to share… Team Beer has stepped up to put on Goldsprints before the game. Just another reason to get there early (I wonder if any BlazerDancers will compete!?).

If you have any questions about the event, leave a comment or call our friend Lisa Swan at the Blazers office (503) 963-3966. Event website is BikePortland.org/biketoblazers.

See you on Sunday and… Go Blazers!

I already had tickets to this game, but I’d still like to participate in the ride and festivities. Is there anything I’m going to miss out on by not buying a ticket through the special promo link?

Hey Josh,

Glad you’ll be there. The only thing you’ll miss out on is the free food/drink voucher that comes with the bike package and you won’t be sitting in our section… which only matters if you want to be on the Jumbotron and sit w/ a bunch of bike lovers. ;-).

Meet at BIKEASAURUS at 4:30 and make a free Blazer button or magnet! We’ll ride promptly at 5 pm.
