Seen in Portland: Bike tattoos

Ever since I moved to Portland six years ago, I’ve loved seeing all the interesting tattoos people have in this town. I don’t have any myself (yet), but if and when I ever get one, there’s a good chance it will have a bike-inspired design.

I came across something in my Twitter feed this morning that mentioned bike tattoos so I delved into my photo archives to see if I could find any. I did! So I figured I’d share them with you…

Pretty interesting mix of designs huh? And there are many, many others I’ve seen but just haven’t had the chance to photograph. Bonus points if you can name the people behind the tattoos!

Wade, of Bad Monkey Bikes in Vancouver, has the logo for his bike store ink on as well as few other tattoos.

You have to wonder if one is committed or disturbed to have their business logo inked on. I guess in Wade’s case, its a bit of both.

I can totally see tattooing your own business logo. Starting a successful business of your own is something to be truly proud of. What I wonder about is the people who get tattoos of other company logos (eg, Apple, Harley Davidson, whatever).
