Oops. Ya forgot central-air and heat, all enclosed in a tube.

AND, this nifty little number: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7j1PgmMbug8

Paul Tay: Nice on the Trondheim lift. Perhaps worth a try on a few critical hills here, that make a challenge out of otherwise moderate routes. Maybe I need to move to a flatter part of town. Yeah.

Jonathan: Maybe in the spirit of widening your demographic, there should be a few happy motorists sharing the road with a ton of cyclists. And maybe at least some of the happy “motorists'” rides will have electric motors instead of puffs of smoke exhausting. The cartoon, to me, furthers the “us v. them” thing that I thought you were against in other forums. Anyway, thanks for this forum, and a cartoon we can think about and comment on. Cool how cartooning can be a vision just like the new bike plan.

Yeah, from an outsider’s perspective, this seems like the kind of thing that will reinforce fears of cyclist goals run amok. And it doesn’t incorporate transit at all. Of course, it is a political cartoon, so it’s supposed to be exaggerated.

MORE RACKS! How the heck you expect to have three lanes of bike travel and yet only space for MAYBE 6 bikes to park on the whole street is beyond me. I think you get much more bang for your buck spending it on safe and well-placed bike racks than anything else.

Some of those riders aren’t wearing helmets. Very irresponsible. And the pedestrians look miserable.

God you people are party poopers.

I like the auto lane with the vehicle symbol, and the sign in the back of the pickup that says “one less bike”.

what does the street address 1138 signify?

Couldn’t agree more. Bad urban planning on my part.

@5
I notice a lot of people in real life not wearing helmets in town, so I thought it was a fair representation. The pedestrians are miserable because they got their bikes stolen (probably because there aren’t enough racks).

@9
The address 1138 signifies that I like the movie THX-1138.

“Some of those riders aren’t wearing helmets. Very irresponsible.”

Please, pleaaaaaaase let this be satire meant mock the omnipresent helmet police who can’t let a single photo or cartoon go by without calling our attention to someone not wearing a helmet. Oh the horror.

Are,

THX 1138 was George Lucas’s first film…and the number shows up in movies all the time, like on airplane tails and such.

It’s about how people are numbers in society.
